The
latter half of our meeting was primarily dedicated to seeing member
photos. Bob Stock started the second half off with a colourful
slideshow entitled A Thousand Exposures
which documented his travels through Southern California and Nevada.
The landscape is very different from our surrounds in PEC. We also
watched a slideshow from our May club outing to Chisholm
Mills and Vanderwater Conservation Area.
The May theme challenge of “Movement”
was depicted in a slideshow entitled Our World in
Motion with
submissions from twenty of our members. The images from the latter
two shows are now available for viewing at our Facebook Page.
A little bit of work was also completed, with two short educational sessions – one discussing the Histogram and how to use it to improve our photography. The other session was on the compositional element of Balance.
The assembled group was reminded of our June Theme Challenge entitled
Renewal and these images (5 to 8 in number) will be due
in just before the end of June. The July theme challenge was also
handed out, namely Lead-in Lines so you can all get a
head start on these as well.
Our June club outing will be about Model Trains and will be
held at the property of David & Elly Welsh who are having an open
house (207 Sandy Hook Rd.) all weekend long. We plan to go as a club at 2PM on Sunday
June 14th. Please mark your
calendars.
The next meeting will be held on Sunday July 5th, at which
time we are asking all of you to bring along two printed images of
your work that have been taken in the past 2 years. The images
should be at least 8x10” in size and either matted or mounted on
bristol board with a border around it. We prefer that they not
be framed! They should not be watermarked or otherwise identifiable
as we have something planned for reviewing these images.
