In case you were unable to get out to the Rotary Club's "Falls Tour" last weekend, Gabrielle Holowacz has kindly sent in pictures of the two waterfalls that lie well off the beaten path - on private owners' properties. She said that compared to last year, the water flow was much greater this time around. Gabrielle utilized her tripod to steady the shots which were taken at exposures of 1/6 to 1/8 sec - slow enough to provide a milky/lacey look to the flowing water. She used a wide angle lens and stopped it down to F/22 for great depth of field. The first image is of Cape Vessey Falls:
The next image shows a tightly cropped view of Jackson Falls with its broad sweep of cascading water.
Thanks Gabrielle for showing us what we missed - some of us will just have to wait until next year's tour!
